Cold pressed almond oil is the most versatile oil we press — and the one that appears in more of our formulations than any other. Almond oil is high in oleic acid (60–70%), which gives it a unique ability to penetrate both the hair shaft and the skin barrier rather than sitting on the surface. It is light enough for daily facial use, rich enough for dry skin, and gentle enough to use on children. The cold pressing process retains the natural vitamin E, phytosterols, and the faint warm scent of fresh almond that refined almond oil completely loses. If your current almond oil smells like nothing, it has been refined.

Sweet almonds

Hair

Use one to two drops on dry hair to control frizz and add shine.

Face

Two to three drops on clean skin morning or evening. Absorbs within 60 seconds. Can replace or supplement moisturiser for dry and combination skin.

Under-eye

One small drop on the under-eye area nightly. One of the more evidence-supported approaches to under-eye dryness with consistent use.

Cooking

Salad dressings, drizzled over food, low-temperature baking. Not suitable for high heat cooking.

Why We Created This Product

We press almond oil in-house because commercial almond oil — even the bottles labelled cold pressed — is almost universally refined after pressing. Refining makes the oil shelf-stable for longer and gives it a neutral smell that makes it easier to sell. It also removes the phytosterols and reduces the vitamin E content that makes almond oil worth using in the first place.

The almond oil we press smells faintly of fresh almonds. It has a very slightly golden tint. It absorbs into skin and hair in a way that refined versions do not. These are not aesthetic differences — they are indicators of what is still in the oil and what has been removed.

We make it available as a standalone because customers who have been using it in our hair oils ask for it directly. It is the same oil — just without the herb infusion.
